Northeast Michigan Regional Farm Market - 3rd week in May to the last week in October.  In Tawas at Gateway Park on Saturdays from 8am to 1pm.  Oscoda/AuSable at the AuSable Shoreline Park on Wednesdays from 9am to 2pm.


Iosco County Historical Society Presents "Orphan Train In Michigan" - The presentation will be Wednesday, May 24th at 6:30 pm, at the Iosco County Museum, 405 W. Bay St., East Tawas.  From 1854 to 1927 about 12,500 orphans were place in Michigan, many from the New York Children's Aid Society.  Come ride with us on the "Baby Train" traveling the route of the Michigan Central Railroad.  Free program, refreshments will be served.


East Shore Youth Jazz All Stars -  Jazz Jamboree at Oscoda High School, May 25th, at 7:00pm.  The East Shore Youth Jazz All Stars will be hosting the Jazz Jamboree performing with the Tawas High School Jazz Band and the Tawas Community Concert Band Jazz Ensemble.  Concert is free but donations are alway welcome.  Come and enjoy the music.

Holy Spokes Bicycle Tour - 5th Annual Holy Spokes Bicycle Tour, Saturday, May 27th, at 9:30am,. Starting point is the Oscoda United Methodist Church, 120 W. Alpena Garden Club - Alpena Garden Club is holding a Plant Sale, Saturday, May 27th, from 8am until noon.  It will be held at the First Baptist Church, 1261 W. Washington, Alpena, MI.


25th Annual Memorial Day Arts and Crafts Show - Tawas Area Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to come and enjoy the arts and craft show at Shoreline Park in Tawas City.  Saturday May 27th from 10am to 5pm, and Sunday May 28th from 10am to 4pm. Enjoy shopping the beautiful handcrafted items from over 120 vendors at the new Shoreline Park.

Memorial Day Cemetery Service and Parade - Beginning at 9am, Monday, May 29th there will be a VFW Cemetery at Memorial Gardens on Plank Rd., in Tawas City.  After the ceremony the Parade will begin at 11am, in East Tawas.  Following the parade there will be a service at the American Legion Cemetery in East Tawas.  For more info please call (989)362-7792.

Fire Relief Fencing Benefit - The 3G Show Cattle of Clare and Jay's Sporting Goods will be hosting a Fire Relief Fencing Benefit Saturday, June 17th, at 5pm at Jay's Sporting Goods in Clare.  Please come and join us for a fun evening of good food and good friends and let's raise some money to help our fellow farmers in the panhandle.  Hundreds of miles of fencing is still needed to get the ranchers back to full operation.  A devoted group of drivers will be headed back to the panhandle in July with the goal of providing as much fencing material as possible.  With that in mind Jay's Sporting Goods will be hosting and providing some great auction offerings as well as many from custom craftsman.  For more info please call Jay's Sporting Goods at (989)386-3475.

Health Quest Inspiring Community Health and Happiness -  Enjoy a beautiful, 5K Beach Run/Walk, along the sandy shoreline of Lake Huron. This is one of the only runs in the state held entirely on the sand!! Knights of Columbus in East Tawas - Invites everyone to Bingo each Sunday night.  Doors open at 5:30, Bingo starts at 6:30 everyone is welcome.


Kiwanis Club of Alpena and Alpena Booster's Club - Are sponsoring the "FLAG PROJECT", and they are looking for help.  The goal is to honor fallen veterans with the "Heroes Avenue of Flags" which will line the Alpena Bi-Path from the Evergreen Cemetery to 11th Avenue.  Each flag will be marked with a memorial plaque.  The flags will be placed 5 times a year.  Cost is just $50 a year.  To make a donation to honor a fallen soldier, or for more info call Judy at 989-354-3543


Please Drop Off - Miner's Grove at the corner of Miller & Wilber roads is collecting soda can tabs.  Proceeds benefit the Shiners' Hospital.  The tab is the only pure aluminum part of the can....the can it's self can be returned for your deposit.  But please remove the tab, and help children through the Shiners' Hospital.
