The Iosco County Historical Society Presents: The Life & Times of Wellington Burt July 19th at 6:30 pm at the Iosco County Museum, 405 W. Bay Street, East Tawas Mi. Larry Prueter, President of the Taymouth Township Historical Association will recount the life of lumber baron Wellington R. Burt. Wellington R. Burt was a wealthy lumber baron from Saginaw, Michigan. At the time of his death, his wealth was estimated to be between $40 and $90 million. He was also involved in mining, railroads, finances and politics, making him one of the wealthiest American men of his time. This is a free program and refreshments will be served. This is part of the Iosco County Historical Society 2017 lecture series.
