Our Heritage - Iosco County Historical Society Presents "Our Heritage" 2019 Lugene Daniels Lecture Series.  All programs are on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm, at the Rushman Hall (K of C Hall) 821 Newman St., East Tawas.  Programs are as follows:

June 19th - The Anishinaabe and the Seven Prophecies with Judy Pamp

July 17th - The United States Life Saving Service with Wes Thompson

Aug 21st - The Toledo War of 1835 with Joe Oldenburg

Sept 18th - French Settlers in Michigan Gerald Wykes

So come on out to one or all of these interesting lectures and help support the Iosco Arenac District Library.

Sunrise Solstice Festival 2019 - Promoting art and music in the Tawas area on beautiful Tawas Bay, Saturday, June 15th from 8am to 10pm, at Shoreline Park in Tawas City.  To help raise funds to enrich the lives of students at Tawas Area High School.  Activities will include a plein air art competition, live music, artist marketplace, art mini sessions, a cuisine corner as well as many family activities.  For more information, please visit their website at


Art Stroll - The Tawas Bay Artist's Gallery will be hosting an Art Stroll, Friday, June 14th from 4pm to 8pm.  Come and enjoy a stroll and visit downtown East Tawas businesses to view the local art and do some shopping.  You can get your passport at the Tawas Bay Art Gallery or the Village Chocolatier. There will be prizes, a silent auction, music, and refreshments.


Motown Eagles - Rogers City Theater will be hosting the Motown Eagles, Saturday, June 15th from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.  Performing the musical hits of the Eagles spanning nearly four decades.  Music hits include "Hotel California", "The Best of My Love" and "Take It To The Limit." Combining their musical talents, these five talented musicians from Detroit blend their voices and instruments to perform the classic hits of the Eagles.  Their band is featured in Michigan’s adjudicated Arts & Humanities Touring Directory.Performance at the historic Rogers City Theater located at 257 N. Third Street in downtown Rogers City.


Art On The Beach - This exciting show has been a favorite for over thirty years! Slated for the last full weekend in June, this show gets bigger and better every year and runs Saturday, June 22nd from 9am -5pm and Sunday, June 23rd from 10am – 4pm. Over 100 Artisans display and sell their handmade arts, crafts, and hobbies on the shores of beautiful Lake Huron, Oscoda Beach Park in Downtown Oscoda.  The Oscoda Beach Park is located just East of Lake Street two blocks from US-23. Drive 4 UR Community - Take a FREE test drive in a brand new Ford from Dean Arbour Ford, and Ford Motor Company will donate up to  $6000.00 to our local American Legion Post 211 to help our local veterans.  The test drives will take place at the American Legion Post at 900 E. Lincoln St., in East Tawas on Saturday, June 22nd, from 10am to 3pm.  So come on out and take a test drive to help out our local veterans.


Smokey Bear - Come by the Harrisville State Park, Saturday, July 6th, at 11am to visit and take photos with Smokey Bear!  He will be at the Campground Host site #2 at 11:00 AM until noon for photos, and then follow him into downtown Harrisville for the annual Kid's Parade!  This parade will start at 1 PM and go through downtown Harrisville.  Stay into the evening to then watch the Fireworks from the Harrisville Harbor, which can also be seen from the day use beach at the Harrisville State Park.  A current Recreation Passport is required to enter the state park.


Luzern Chamber Of Commerce - Come and enjoy the festivities in Luzern with a theme of "Home of the Free, Because of the Brave", Saturday, July 6th, starting at noon.  There's Krafts on the Corner, Goat Pellet (poo) Bingo-buy your spots at the Luzern Hardware ($3 per spot or 2 for $5), Ma Deeters Cornhole Tourney.  Don't forget the "Home of the Free" Parade that starts at 4pm.  There will also be Live Entertainment by Mike Ross from 5pm to dusk.  Then the Luzern Spectacular Fireworks Show at Dusk.  So come on out and bring the kids for a great time in Luzern.


Model A & Model T Car Show - 4th  Annual Model A & Model T Vintage Carshow, Saturday July 13th from 10am to 4pm at the Standish Historical Depot. Enjoy a day of leisure and reminicing about days gone past. Model A and Model T cars on display. Open to only those original/restored cars and trucks 1931 or older. Registration s $5.00. Awards ceremony at 4:00pm with awards to the top 40 vehicles of the show. Lunch and Ice Cream Social provided to all pre registered vehicles. Brunch at the Harbor - Farm to Fork Alcona is a multi-phase initiative promoting farm to table movement in Alcona in order to improve the economy & health of our community.  On Saturday, July 13th, at the Harrisville Harbor from 9am till 12 noon, Farm to Fork Alcona presents a special local-food brunch with burritos as the star attraction. This family-friendly event is just $5 per person at the tent, so bring the whole gang for a morning treat.
